This whole thing is baffling for me because one of the appeals for sports and videogame competitions is how they are based purely on skills and training and this has nothing to do with either. It's literally any chump picking the premade character, rolling the dice and hoping for the best, which makes the skill not that important compared to random luck and chance. Like people got insanely loving pumped seeing Evo Moment 37 because Daigo is a legit monster who honed his reflexes to pull that off whereas if I don't know, some dipshit rolls five 20s in a row with blade cascade it's just a freakish stroke of luck.

Boogie is incredibly bad, almost indescribably so. He claims to have a “centrist” position, which is bad enough in and of itself, but his centrism is positively regressive, as he seems perfectly willing to side with literally Nazis while calling foul whenever anyone progressive calls him out. Like, he said that the push for gay marriage was bad because it led to more violence against gay people.

And just to reiterate on Hambly, he was banned from participating at official Magic tournaments for organizing a harassment campaign against a cosplayer. Some enterprising soul noted this and also banned him from Magic Online. This was before he spread extremely dubious claims about being attacked at GenCon by an 'SJW game designer.' He sold t-shirts about it. Had fellow chud Ethan Van Sciver raise a bunch of money for his 'legal fees' and while he apparently used some of it to pay for a retainer the rest of the money's use has not been disclosed. Oh, he's also banned at GenCon now too.
