Working in the post office has shown me that most people who still post poo poo are old and/or dumb people who don't know better.

I usually postal-vote or pre-poll, as its much easier than standing in the queue on the day, and also because I am usually working a booth on election day so get that poo poo out of the way.

Not saying all of them, but practicing jews have to postal vote as poll day is the sabbath.

Which makes the empty promise to move the embassy even funnier given they would have voted before Morrison advocated that anyway.

My guess is that all of the postal votes counted today will be, but the ones to come later in the week will have been sent after.

I've always felt voting should be over two days with it being mandatory for employers to give staff at least one of those days off.

Hell, maybe even throw in some sort of tax credit for participating in democracy while we're at it.

Jane Caro (who I've never heard of but is apparently a minor celebrity) is apparently considering running in Wharringah at the next federal election, inspired by Phelps' success.

Based on recent polling, the electorate are deeply dissatisfied with Abbott and the RWNJs he runs with, so she has a definite shot.

This may actually be the answer - if the Liberal party won't deal with its internal toxicity, safe, 'socially progressive' tree tory seats will start falling to independents who still vote in the interests of money, but aren't one eyed idealogues.

Meaning no safe liberal seats remain. Someone should convince high profile tree tories to run in Claremont and Cook and just destroy the leadership.

Dan Andrews announced that Labor will remove another 25 level crossings by 2025 if they get re-elected.

A doubly good move from a campaign point-of-view because he gets to talk about how this government has already removed a bunch (29 of 50 so far) which reminds everyone how the Libs did nothing the last time they were in charge.

Yeah I was working at Double Bay yesterday, we were the 2nd biggest polling place in Wentworth, and there was no queue at all after midday - people could just walk in and grab their ballot paper.

I live in a safe Labor seat and I can vote without ever having to wait in line at several polling places. In my experience there seem to be one or two 'main' places that attract the crowds and a bunch of tiny obscure booths that are always deserted.
