I wonder if I can find my Newton MessagePad 120 or 2000. They belong here. I had a dial up modem for one of them even, and an ADB-ish keyboard.

I think that LGR's "Tech Tales" are the best videos he makes because he does some good research and they have interesting historical value. His "Oddware" videos and videos where he sets up and uses vintage hardware are also good for the history. If for some reason anyone in here hasn't already watched his stuff, those are the most on-topic (to this thread) videos that he does.

I get the lo-fi charm and simplicity of his MS Paint illustrations, but see how often he begins a sentence with "so" and tell me it isn't a little much. I know a lot of people do that in everyday speech, but this stuff is still scripted. It's like Doug DeMuro's use of "now." Babish, now there's a YouTube voice

Never could afford one back in the day (I went from 2600 to c64, to nothing for a long time). Thanks, amigas cost more now and are rarer as well Should have grabbed one in the 2000s instead of extra consoles and PCs for play and building for fun/spares. I spent so much building p2, p3 and amd systems just for fun, just for them all to land in the recycling tip eventually years later because who needs more than one PC? If I bought an amiga cheap in the 2000s I probably would have kept it. E: I have fond memories of the amiga too. In my high school we held fund raiser to build our own computer lab and the school chose amigas. So while I never owned an amiga I used them for 2 years in high school. I watched Stalin is Dead without audio on my last flight and it was fine with subtitles. Except one of the big jokes in the movie is that no one even attempts a Russian accent. So Steve Buscemi as Khrushchev just sounds like Donny in the Big Lebowski.

It actually represents different accents you'd encounter within the language and between the people the film is depicting. Faking accent when your character is supposed to be speaking the language is one of my pet peeves. It just makes no sense!

One moment the characters were saying "Okay, let's go" and the next they were in a field getting checked out by paramedics.
