Didn't I kill him with a HELICOPTER?
I cant explain it, but the way the couch reflects light vs the walls makes one or the other look fake af. There's a bit where Paige touches the walls and the couch looks like its badly photoshopped in.

Having watched episode 2 I’m a lot less sure that the show is more than just an excuse for dumb porn and melodrama than I was at the end of episode 1.

Although it was fun listening to the Japanese voice actress try to force out the word “Orcbolg.”

Because it's a trash spankbait series that's gotten more recognition than it ever should have dreamed of.

All the THUG 2 LP is making me do is wanna go and play this game as it was the only Tony Hawk I didn't play before what felt like the death of these games, though I suppose this game was the impetus for it. Well, that and Woolie playing this game like absolute poo poo kinda annoys me as someone who avidly played Pro Skater 1-4 and did like half of the story for the first THUG.

Jackass still holds up for a lot of it, there's some that aged poorly or just didn't really land in the first place, but mostly very good.

Wild Boys is still good for the most part, mostly because Steve-O and Chris Pontius work super well together.

Viva la Bam it all depends how much you could still stomach Bam in the year 2018.

That kinda gaming spite has gotten me to replay a lot of games I don't think I would've touched in a while otherwise. It might've been what got me to buy God of War for myself too but I can't remember what eventually made me pull the plug.

Jackass has aged pretty well just because "idiots hurt themselves for entertainment" is always a good idea.

And Wildboyz is still pretty great cuz Chris Pontius and Steve-O were always 2 of the top 3 of Jackass (the other being Knoxville of course).

Viva La Bam is god-awful now, but it's still pretty interesting as a total time capsule of that particular era. You can SMELL the 2004 on it.

Very true. Chris Pontius comes off like a really kind dude and he got his start in all of that because he got interviewed in a skateboarding mag, where he met some of the other guys who'd go on to do Jackass which is pretty cool. Steve-O's a lot the same, where he always seemed like one of the hearts of the group, he's also done a bunch of stuff about/against animal cruelty, including getting arrested over protesting SeaWorld, which is a real quick way to make me love someone. That and I'm glad Steve-O managed to get off his crazy drug benders, apparently for 10+ years now, cause his autobiography/documentary thing was really hard to watch at points.

Yeah, signposting has never been TH's strength, and doubly so for the gimmicky goals. I can def understand being unable to watch it if you know what's up, but I'm mostly enjoying the bumbleking action. Spain was bad admittedly, but Germany seems better.

The goals really aren't that obtuse if you read them, and have played the other 2/3ds of the tutorial they skipped. The Best Friends are just falling into the old trap of trying to speedrun a game they've never played before. I swear they've talked about making this mistake before on a podcast or something.

Sparrow does do some Sparrowing in this game, it should actually be coming up in the LP pretty soon. After his one big moment he stops being part of the plot, though. Brace yourself for more of Jackass: The Video Game.

Edit: I might actually be remembering events that make any sense rather than what's actually in the game, I dunno. It's been a long time since I played it.

anyone else kind of sick of these puppet combo games? i understand needing fodder for the shitstorm but making a horror game every month becomes less impressive when they're all the same but with a different enemy model. then again, the experience may be hampered by the best friends going through the long intro portions and then stopping as soon as the enemy shows up

It's definitely down to the latter. Puppet Combo's games roughly follow the same ideas for the most part, faux old timey slasher trappings whether played straight or almost parodied, gritty or surreal locale, loud and unpleasant sounds, curveball killer appearances, but they usually do have enough distinguishing features between them when you actually play through the games and don't just treat it like "We saw the killer and instantly died, game's over" as the duders kind of have.
