That sucks about Absu. Anecdotal, but when my lovely death metal band opened for them a few years ago, their guitarist was the only one who actually acknowledged the opening bands existed and was friendly to them. If they have broken up, I'm glad I got to see them at least once.

Incantation truly felt like old friends jamming out and having fun. Their little pre-set ritual, how much fun they seemed to be having during the set, all the thanks they showered the audience with after. What solid dudes. Next time have copies of Onward to Golgatha in stock though, you shitters.

They’re dicks now though so it wouldn’t surprise me. On that note I’ve been listening to Absu lately. Sadly because of the bullshit that apparently went down but whatever, they’re excellent. What other bands write about the occult and magic and all that like they do? They seem to actually dig deep into it instead of just word dumping spooky words. Even though that owns too.

I remember I was at this Children of Bodom show in the middle of nowhere Long Island back in maybe 2004, and the opener was some horrible metalcore band that got tacked onto the bill. The crowd hated them and the singer started to get really agitated and antagonistic with the crowd, who might have been heckling them at that point. Probably 265 pounds, he stagedove out of nowhere as though to intentionally injure a bunch of people in front of the stage and they all formed a giant hole for him to fall into faster than I've ever seen a packed crowd move
