I'd agree with this. Some people can write good lines here and there, but Keith's worst lyric is still better than most

I maybe changed my douchey sophomore year roommate's ringtone/notifications to "Hey there girls, I'm a oval office" from Bored Stiff.

I’ll actually take Sam Carter lyrics over Keith Buckley ones, but y’all not wrong

Full new Daughters album came out a few days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NB7RBZ1yGY (this was on a playlist with the whole album but the forums keep eating it)

What did people think of it? I'm just now starting it. I wasn't enthralled with the singles (and I've loved all their previous albums, through all the changes).

This first track is really atmospheric at least, but I don't know if I care enough to listen to it ever again though.

I really like "Long Road, No Turns" and "Satan In The Wait" but the rest of the album doesn't do a ton for me.

Still looking forward to seeing them next week, though.

Same, except sub Satan In the Wait for The Reason They Hate Me. The album is good, but it falls into the background really quickly.

I mean, Daughters has always been a...challenging band to listen to. I think You Won't Get What You Want might be their most "normal" album but the entire thing is kind of the audio equivalent of the spooky cursed mansion on the hill over a backwards Eastern European town.

EDIT: In college when my friends asked me for a ride I made them listen to Hell Songs, one time right as Daughters Spelled Wrong ended my friend just turned off the stereo entirely, looked me dead in the eyes and said with complete sincerity "That made me physically uncomfortable."

Semi random question for folks who know more about Architects. Is the person who writes the lyrics a Buddhist? At least, there seems to be tons of references to Buddhism in their lyrics, like "Maya" and "Hungry Ghost" in Modern Misery, or the Alan Watts speech in Memento Mori. Curious if there's an interview flying around anywhere where they talk more about this.

Saw Make Them Suffer, Erra, The Acacia Strain, and After The Burial for Halloween tonight. Holy loving wow, what a great show. TAS played Continent in its entirety and ATB did the same with Rareform. Most of 'em dressed up a bit. Nice change of pace from all black band tees.

Erra loving killed it and I was surprised at how much of the crowd knew their stuff. All four bands, really.

I saw this show in NYC and TAS encore'd with four Wormwood songs which was out of control. As soon as I heard the first chord for Tactical Nuke I loving became a tactical nuke myself and probably ruined everyone else's time. That song flips a switch in my brain.

I'm seeing this on Saturday, probably line up of the year for me. The breakdown from the track Rareform is probably in my top 10 breakdowns of all time, but it's not a popular track and I'd never thought I'd get to see it live. Definitely losing my poo poo during that.

They're OK. I really like their self titled from 2012, and I'll also throw on A New Era of Corruption every once in awhile also. Everything else is pretty meh.
