Something like a video game doesn't seem like it would be like this. However, most video games also don't build high end graphics first and then force themselves to back into a video game. They do it with boxes and 50 poly ships and make sure the game works, and that way you don't get into something stupid like what Star Citizen did. But again I'm not a game dev so don't take my word for it.

But ship spawning's hosed for the in-game purchases, and right now your cursor disappears on any interactive screen anyway, so they're a nightmare to use in general. I kind of want to make a Sarsapariller Challenge to reddit but I'm not sure how to word it. Something like: "Post an unedited video of you completing a 3.3 PTU mission from start to finish (starting from your wankpod and ending at mission success) with no bugs, glitches, crashes, or instant deaths. If you succeed at this, I will buy you a 45 dollar starter package." HARD MODE "Post an unedited video of you earning enough credits in an hour without the Prospector that, if extrapolated into a 12 hour per week grind, could see you earning enough to buy a Prospector from the in-game store within 3 months of game play (since that is roughly how often your account will be reset due to patches)."

I have not managed it in probably 20+ hours of PTU play time. I should probably specify which mission since there's an outside chance that someone could get lucky at like, the Kareah FPS "Kill 7 people" thing. I almost managed to do that one once. The second one is absolutely 100% impossible

How many ships are available that you can earn with in-game credits, and what missions / activities are there to do? 3.2 has the same boring rear end set of 4 or so missions that launched with 2.6 basically, and 2 more that are derivatives of that with some extra fluff from either ortwin or the man with 4 jackets go here and deactivate activate/relay go here and search a derelict for clues go here and shoot guys in ships (almost loving impossible in starter ships) deliver this cargo (only works in one starter ship and that requires a work around) and thats it and no one does them because you get absolutely nothing and will probably get crashed the gently caress out trying them and they are loving boring as poo poo 3.3 adds "jumping puzzle" mission and "first person kill shoot bang bang" mission

like this Delivery Deploy Recovery AI Bounty Hunt AI Assassination Collection Waste disposal Patrol Derelict investigation Escort Mission Givers but the delivery and recovery and collection and waste disposal all share the same "pick up a box, move box" mechanic with different fluff the AI bounty hunt, assassination, patrol and escort are all the same with different flavor text (and not really much that happens differently). escort gives you the chance to kill the friendly captain and take his ship over though, which is what we should do in 3.3 to get better ships the two mission givers give out quests that are just like these, basically with a short monologue and then some flavor text but nothing loving changes and the payouts are small and there's no sense of scale or progression at all, since "reputation" (which is just a crime stat type thing, not like something you earn with various factions in a traditional MMO sense) resets when you connect to a different server I mean start citizen is loving bad, okay
