Arist posted:Watching Patriot Act because the AV Club praised it, and I have to agree with them that Hasan Minhaj just seems incredibly good at this. I'm only a few minutes in, but it's great so far for no other reason than him. I haven't gotten really into one of these shows since Jon Stewart left The Daily Show, either. Really liked the Saudi episode. The other one not so much. It was just fine.

I wouldn't even consider it a prequel to Breaking Bad. A prequel to BB would be a show about Walt the science teacher and Jesse the meth cook. Having some of the same characters but focusing almost entirely on new people and a new story makes it less a prequel and more just "a show that takes place in the same world". Like, Cheers wasn't a prequel to Frasier.

I’m a year behind watching Stranger Things s2, but loved that episode 7 (I think) has a big chunky homage to Aliens within it. Paul Reiser. “Stay Frosty”. Motion scanners. Beautiful.

If it helps, pretend I said that Frasier isn't a sequel to Cheers and understanding that will allow you to realize that BCS is not a prequel to BB. Prequels/sequels involve more than just "this takes place in the same world".
