That's why I was saying; USDA doesn't really have the authority here, FDA does. USDA only has that definition to give them additional authority for meat processing inspections.

btw I was recently sent genuinely excellent journalism describing how FDA is hosed over by "consumer groups" like the CSPI:

Just got offered a job at a criminal defense firm. Sent in resume/cover letter/writing sample at 9:30am. Got a call at 10:00 to schedule an interview next week. Owner texted me at 12 asking if I could come in at 2. I’ve got trial on Thursday as second chair if I want the job. Pay is slightly better than state pay but not remarkable. Head of the firm is cool though, so I think I’m going to do it.

Sounds like a high workload but if you like criminal law there's no better position to be in for your first job. Congrats.

Prospective law students: go to law school.

Well a lot of people think PDs have a thankless job but at least they don’t have to listen to a bunch of entitled middle class to rich people who think they own them for the price of a retainer complain how they might actually have to live with a court record that they broke the law.

It’s not a PD. Basically all of the clients are paying and there’s room for rapid pay raises if I’m doing well and bringing in business.

I’m most likely going to take the job. I just haven’t pulled the lever yet. Debating on asking for a little bit more pay since I’m going to be a big tax cut for her first year.

Pull the lever now if you want the job, don't wait another moment.

But also, don't expect "rapid pay raises."

I’m asking for a little bit higher starting wage and accepting regardless of whether I get the extra money or not.

Same here. I mean this honestly, Mr. Nice, you've had a really good attitude during your job search, despite a lot of interviewer double-speak and set-backs. I'm glad you've gotten your foot in the door.

She offered $50k but I wanted to see if I could get $55k. I told her I’m worth a tax credit and asked for $60k. She said $55k with a bump to $60k on April 1st next year. Looks like I have a job. :grovertoot:

There is an idea of a Yuns, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.
