ok so am trying to make a website and I started using webflow because looks easy.. but I am not sure if it can do what I want it to do so from main page you go "create new" and itll create a blank template (thats where the magic happens) with a new random url like website.com/4dMuJs8qTrP4 and so you copy/paste that url to your friends so they can then all go to the same page and do the collab work that needs to happen (the collab work is relatively simple) so can webflow allow me to do that? create a blank set to work with like that? I am having trouble getting around the idea of CMS, because it seems like you can only have X amount of CMS entries, and do I understand it correctly that one of these CMS entries would be one of those pages? so if even with huge tier plan with 10,000 CMS entries, if my website every actually got popular, 10,000 would be a puny number or is webflow more like squarespace? i made a site with squarespace and it was pretty good, but I didn't need anything more than static pages.. I wonder if I am just going to have to learn how to do this by hand.. hmm.. like learn how to make a database or some poo poo. difference being that this isn't a website for a business, but a website that actually is the product echinopsis fucked around with this message at 22:21 on Oct 20, 2018 |

you'll probably need to setup your own custom database. your backend is gonna need to be fairly robust if you want to take on a bunch of customers and make money off this. think about it how much do you think people are going to be willing to pay for this service and how many people are going to have to pay in order for you to see a return? so you need to make a pretty big database.

also if you roll your own that's less money you have to pay out to vendors. more profit for you.

fuckin up's just another way to learn. knowledge is wealth too. echi don't forget when rolling up your server to use the right amount of RAID. some people say five is good but ten's probably what you need here

so realistically i would need to learn how to database like sql? and then can i do the rest in python also if something was worthwhile wouldn’t ya host it on something not my home pc like trying to straddle the zone where i’m gonna have to learn all but the most basics from scratch but also don’t feel exactly like i need to learn the latest and greatest methods just need a rough prototype that words until that sweet vc cash flows in and then i can hire come code monkeys

idk how i managed to describe what i have in mind as google docs but that’s wrong. i moves this over to the programming thread anyway coz it’s not really a computer problem it’s more a human problem (me) with a computer solution
