Using aircraft carriers as bait was probably also something the US wouldn't consider. Why aren't they refilling them with new planes and pilots fresh out of the training programs 2000 miles behind the front lines?

   A night bomber mission takes out a plane on the runway.  This is mainly out of spite now.  This is a good showing.   I lose a plane today!  After years of being on the same orders, these planes decide to attack – I wonder if this is an attack force being landed, or just the game being buggy again.  This is a change from Liberators at least.  At least the carriers are replacing their losses now.

How are the islands under attack holding out as far as supplies/troops doing? And have you considered it worth it to try and evacuate som eof the outlying ones that are being worn down? or at least rebase planes/heavy equipment from them if you don't think it's feasible to evacuate the soldiers?

   God drat it, the Stingray is back.  I went hunting, but only got these aircraft.  This goes poorly for them.   Wake finally falls with heavy losses – they take none, so it seems my men have surrendered. I hope they at least burned their code books!  The Allies finally take wake – this will be interesting as it will allow them to base a few planes there, and finally kick the AI into planning a new wave of attacks – which may well include some that work!  We finally get a confirmation on a ship that can be charitably said to be named after a port mistress.

I have reclused myself from the location of TBF. this is in case I am captured. Currently, only the Fortress commandant knows it's location. Though it is thought to be in the Tokyo region. God, what game would I have to play to act out the Tokyo Bay Fortress story?

Red Alert 3's George Takei Dynasty Japan had floating fortresses just roaming the Pacific as a plot point. There's even a mission where one of them is redirected to provide firing support for an invasion of California to broadcast anime propaganda and subvert the will of Americans. Pretty sure I'm only barely exaggerating that, don't remember much of that game beyond the mission where Soviet Premier Tim Curry betrays you on Easter Island and you have to raid his Volcano Fortress for the right to rule the Comintern.
