Actually I’m not sure what the go is old vs new boundaries in by-elections. Either way Labor wins that seat.

I'm going to laugh when Phelps votes with the government against a no-confidence vote citing stability and other crap, when they don't even have a parliamentary majority anymore.z Edit: Holy poo poo, ARC grants WHY DID THE HONOURABLE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION NOT DENY THIS ONE, MISTAH SPEAKAH Don Dongington fucked around with this message at 12:57 on Nov 1, 2018 |

Basically having 2 MPs who're questionably ineligible to be there, when said govt no longer holds a majority takes it beyond scandalous to "actually a loving major constitutional crisis", and Phelps would be complicit if she were to vote with them to maintain their hold on government. They'll try, but it's definitely the kind of situation where the GG would be expected to step in.

with Phelps in, the Government no longer has the numbers to block referrals. I would expect Dutton to get referred as well. I wish this clusterfuck of a government wasn't hell bent on making us vote them out one seat at a time. Call a drat election already.

I also want Labor to force Dutton to pay back his entire salary and entitlements bill for the entire period he was in violation of section 44, but you know shorten won't do that because

Isn't this all wishful thinking? Would Phelps really vote herself straight into another election as oppose to going 'i am here for stability and to get done what I said I would and this is just a distraction blah blah'?

Can't you can bypass the bad publicity of bringing down the government by being completely blind to the situation stating you have received advice from some liberal that dutton or this other clown has done no wrong (lol), and you merely want to give him the opportunity to clear his name and put this matter to bed so we can Get On With The Job of Deploying Fair Dinkum Power

NTRabbit posted:Can they keep supply when Dunkley goes Labor in a byelection? Yes. The crossbench is Bandt, Wilkie, Phelps, Sharkie, McGowan, and Katter (there's arguably a Nat crossbencher but lets be loving serious). If Labor wins Dunkley they'll have 70 seats to the Coalition's 74 (I'm including the Nat). How many of those crossbenchers would want an early election, especially one that Labor would probably win? Bandt and maybe Wilkie? The rest will provide supply and confidence for as long as they can. They have bargaining power at the moment and wouldn't want to risk upsetting their conservative electorates.

Uggghquote:Ms Hanson on Thursday night accused asylum seekers of a deliberate strategy to beat the system after the government commissioned public servants to collate the number of asylum seeker babies born on Nauru. This desperation to kick their victims even more, unbelievable. And in other rising terror news: quote:The risk, however, is that Mr Turnbull may also use the Q&A session to apply the blowtorch to the Morrison camp that exploited his downfall. Having already sniped and undermined the ‘new’ government, Mr Turnbull must resist the urge to completely wreck it.
