Every time someone brings up how tough Trump is, I like to repost this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xu5lz4fS-Y His response to a Bernie supporter attempting to rush the stage was to look around, panicked, and then grab the arm of the first Secret Service agent who made it to him. Trump's not a tough guy, he's a superficial bully whose eyes would widen up with fright if anyone ever physically challenged him. He can't even fire people in person. He's the guy who hides in the corner during a bar fight, and then boasts about how he kicked someone's rear end when no one was watching.

Yeah, I mean it's stuff that actual elected congresscritters might meaningfully support, not stuff that would require constitutional amendments or require major parties to cut their own throats. By definition it's gonna be half measures, but even half measures can still be effective if you pile up enough of them.

The pitch boils down to this: Trump is a tremendous piece of poo poo and GOD made him president. So surely I (also a tremendous piece of poo poo) am also an instrument of GOD. Weird how that only applies to tremendous pieces of poo poo who funnel money away from the

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...m=.c6865482c79b CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — President Trump is painting an astonishingly apocalyptic vision of America under Democratic control in the campaign’s final days, unleashing a torrent of falsehoods and portraying his political opponents as desiring crime, squalor and poverty. As voters prepare to render their first verdict on his presidency in Tuesday’s midterm elections, Trump is claiming that Democrats want to erase the nation’s borders and provide sanctuary to drug dealers, human traffickers and MS-13 killers. He is warning that they would destroy the economy, obliterate Medicare and unleash a wave of violent crime that endangers families everywhere. And he is alleging that they would transform the United States into Venezuela with socialism run amok. Trump has never been hemmed in by fact, fairness or even logic. The 45th president proudly refuses to apologize and routinely violates the norms of decorum that guided his predecessors. But at one mega-rally after another in the run-up to Tuesday’s midterm elections, Trump has taken his no-boundaries political ethos to a new level — demagoguing the Democrats in a whirl of distortion and using the power of the federal government to amplify his fantastical arguments.

My boss gave me Wednesday off because I joked I probably wouldn't be in any position to come in after drinking through the night to either celebrate or drown the tears, but I decided to probably just come in anyway because drinking might not be the best idea. Seconding that yesterday's LWT was loving rough. Even John Oliver was visibly shaking. I'm still not over Trump calling a swastika-waving, torchbearing crowd "very fine people", and I genuinely thought not much would come close to it, but the whole child internment, coupled with the fact that they're pretending equal measures of being forced to do it, and that Democrats were actually responsible for it... Yeah, I think that may take the cake. If it actually ends up being a blue wave, I might still break out the booze and call in drunk, but as it is, I think it might be a dry Wednesday.
