Looking over his filmography the only works of his I think I've seen are Beautiful Dreamer, GITS and GITS: innocence, and I'm pretty sure the Patlabors but I don't remember those very well. Beautiful Dreamer almost single-handedly took me from "Saturday anime on SciFi is neat" to "must absorb everything" mode as a kid though so I'll always give him that

Jin-roh is great just for the obscenely detailed but actually not rotoscoped animation. Having a fairly solid (if slightly hard to exactly follow) plot just makes it even better. I agree the last act is is just masterwork.
