This happened in Dallas in 2008. Suddenly all the judgeships were Democrats. Also, there's something off with the NYT projection. 538 saying that Texas 31 is 50/50 and NYT saying its 95+% R. Plus they're projecting Cruz with +4.5 and he's at +2.9 right now with about 900k votes to count, most of which is coming from blue cities.

Cornyn's boring which is an improvement over Cruz being loathsome - which Beto could maybe overcome, but probably not with the failed campaign so fresh in anyone's heads.
