Pointing out how much the hyper rich pay to charity always irks me because it just isn't a sacrifice to them. Bill Gates donating 10 million has less impact on his lifestyle than me donating 20 bucks a month.

Jesus directly addresses this: Mark 12:41-44 New International Version (NIV) The Widow’s Offering 41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Charitable largesse by the bourgeoisie isn’t really comparable to progressive taxation because the bourgeoisie are still picking and choosing what they give their money to, even when it’s actively counter-productive to the goal of a functioning society that takes care of people. (i.e. Bill Gates heavily funding and propagandizing for charter schools).

Might wanna see how that pans out first.

I like that it fails to make a value judgement on whether there might be a difference between nazis and communists and also whether or not either or both of the two are correct in marking an increase in both ideologies.

Yeah I campaigned hard for that one and I'm glad to see it turned out alright, though I'm guessing it's because there was no simple "R" or "D" next to the choices so a lot of idiots didn't bother. I'm leaving anyway, not because of the election, but I'm just done after 14 years of this poo poo. Someone else can continue the fight, looking forward to moving to a state that already has its poo poo together. Looking at you, Colorado.
