Speaking of this There is absolutely no way Deltarune wont be stuffed with metaphor. The amount of times that Toby specifically tries to make people recall Undertale, and then immediately subverting these expectations, the way the characters interact, the visual cues from the art, the metaphorical nature of the Dark World, where Lighteners give the Darkeners 'purpose'. Toby seems to know people would immediately go for the literal readings and metaphysical speculation, and uses that to tell a story that most people would let slide right under their noses because theyre not looking for it. Theyre playing Deltarune because theyre looking for more Undertale, but the former isnt the latter.

yeah I'm a big fan of the idea that Rouxls = this world's Gaster. They look kinda similar, esp with the droopy eyes and weird grin, but mainly I want to believe that because it'd be hilarious if the super-spoopy fan theory lightning rod turned out to be a total condescending dorkass Gaster could 100% be Rouxls' skeleton
