Jippa posted:Even though you are looking straight at me I'm sneaking anyway. My parents had a cat like that. My sister would come over with her kids, and as soon as they heard the older one in the garage, they'd zip away. Sasha, a really laid back dark brown shorthair, wouldn't move until they were in the house. Then she would super slowly slink away as my squealing niece ran up and grabbed her. She did this for years. "If I go slow maybe she won't see me". Never worked out that way. Once when she was being clutched tightly by a four year old she very clearly yowled "Noooo!" "Bryana, I don't think she likes that put her down"

Kennel posted:But what is the fourth option??? Serious answer: This looks like something for children with autism. The fourth option would be, “No greeting,” because you should not try to force a greeting like that on a child with autism who doesn’t want to be greeted.

Blessed thread is posting about possums.MeatwadIsGod posted:I rehab them and they're actually really clean. They groom a bit like cats and like to poop/pee in water. Their poop smells horrendous though so I put a bit of concentrated odor eliminating stuff in their little toilet. Never had one with a maggot problem. MeatwadIsGod posted:When they're little they tend to grip around your finger with their tail to help stabilize and feel safe. I haven't handled them much once they get bigger than 200 grams or so. Once their jaws/teeth reach a certain size they will snap just to warn you off and it's nothing to trifle with. jemand posted:Love the awesome possum pics ITT

Same, they also never needed baths. They really shouldn't need it.... I love those morphs, but they're supposed to be whiter than that, not yellow. I bet they're on a lovely pellet diet (suggies have really sensitive dietary requirements, which is why they shouldn't be sold in pet stores to idiots who think they just put a scoop of generic food from a bag in a bowl and call it good). Here's my little dude, Ser Gregor Clegane, the Mountain that Glides. For comparison, here's an old photo from the day I first rescued he and his little brother Sandor (Sandor on the left, he wasn't neutered when I got him so he had that bald spot). Look at the difference in coat color. They were on a lovely pellet diet and nothing else. I switched them to a much more comprehensive and balanced nectar/soup, along with fresh fruits and veggies, mealworms, etc., all calculated to balance their potassium to phosphorus ratio. Within months they lost all of the brown and yellow and were that much healthier silvery color, with nice white bellies. We lost Sandor very suddenly and they're colony animals, they don't do well solo, so I re-homed him to a new family (and "re-homed" not a euphemism for "sold", I hate that poo poo). It was so hard to give him up, but he's doing SO well with his new colony The new owner sent me some video of him running on his wheel like a doofus, chowing down on some corn on the cob, playing with his new brothers and sisters, but I can't find them at the moment. I've never, ever given up a pet before in my life, it was really hard, but it was the best thing for him and he's so happy now riding that megachonk glider around.
