i yammered on about this in the trump thread a few times but this perfectly illustrates the poo poo Trump's administration keeps doing that gets their policies struck down: completely reversing Obama-era policies without even pretending to give a poo poo about the requirement they provide reasoned explanations for the new position quote:In rejecting the permit, Morris relied mainly on arguing that the State Department, the agency that analyzed the project, didn’t properly account for factors such as low oil prices, the cumulative impacts of greenhouse gases from Keystone and the Alberta Clipper pipeline and the risk of oil spills. you're allowed to change your policies because you have new political leadership, but you're not allowed to do that without at least creating a record of why you think your new policy is actually better than the old one. they made some version of this mistake with DACA, and waters of the united states (and probably a half dozen other major agency actions i'm forgetting rn) but apparently never learn eke out fucked around with this message at 04:59 on Nov 9, 2018 |

A last minute reversal of the FL Sen and Gov race after a whole bunch of 'lost' ballots are 'found' during the recount would make things much more sensible. It's actually not 50/50, it's quite a bit higher than that given the areas where votes are uncounted (the two most liberal counties). Sinema is ahead by 10k votes at the moment, and assuming all remaining ballots come in at the same ratio as the counties have reported thus far, she will end up winning by over 20k votes. It’s still all to fight for. Things are happening at every level of society to make this world suck just a little less. That’s incredible. We might survive. The tides may rise, the country may reform, and the guns might fire. But the tides may recede, the country might rebuild, and the guns might get melted. There’s always tomorrow. Let’s see what it brings.
