I guess you can't try to make TV shows for everyone anymore, because TV is pretty focused on small demographics rather than the TV watching public so you can ignore what a bigot might think.

There's a great interview with Bowie from the 80s on MTV where he straight up asks why MTV doesn't play many black artists, and the interviewer says "well, some people in the US are uncomfortable with that and we don't want to offend them" and Bowie is all "Well isn't that interesting" but his body language says "you're worried about what racists think? Thats as bad".

I've seen shit you people wouldn't believe. Cop cars on fire off the shoulder of I-94. I watched search lights glitter in the dark near the Ambassador Bridge. All those moments will be lost in time, like piss in the drain. Time to retch.
I loving love that interview.

I'm like seven episodes into Luke Cage S2, and I got a question. I don't know a lot about the law, or police matters. But if a man was brutally murdered, and the very last thing he did, literally minutes before the murder, was transfer hundreds of millions of dollars and property to some guy he had no prior business relationship with, wouldn't that guy immediately become the number one suspect? Wouldn't the cops, like, investigate that guy? Instead of just walking around the crime scene, saying, "whelp, no evidence here" and immediately giving up?

If it was from a personal account or something directly tied to him, yes.

I'm 5'8" and have met Amell twice. He's 6 feet tall max. He wears thick soled boots on the show but he was wearing cross training sneakers (we discussed exercise shoes).

Long Live The King!

Benoist is 5’8” and Brooks is 6’3” and Hoechlin looks like he’s right in the middle of that when he’s wearing his Clark clothes from on set pictures. So probably 5’11- 6’ or so. When he’s in the Superman suit his boots look to have heel lifts of about 1-1.5 inches or so.

OK, they finally do address that torturing someone until they give you money is not a legitimate business thing. But that is a separate legal trick that the lawyer pulls off to get the money back. And it's framed like, wow look at how clever the lawyer is! As opposed to, yeah no poo poo.

And my point stands that a millionaire was brutally murdered, his last action moments before death was transferring hundreds of millions of dollars to a guy the cops already believed was involved in organized crime and even suspect was behind the murder. Like, they literally talk about it at the crime scene. "That guy did this!" "maybe but there's no evidence!" Somehow the money connection is just never mentioned or investigated by the cops.

The tools of a hero mean nothing without a solid core.

Honestly Brooks is just a tall guy who naturally looms, an early set shot had the two of them together with no attempt to downplay the difference, and the nickname stuck since Supes is usually shot to be larger than life. Like in this Lois pic. Even if there aren't lifts or anything the eyeline on the camera is low.
