AZ is at the point of virtually being in the bag. FL started it's recount today. Two big Dem areas are already saying they won't be able to finish the machine recount in time, especially not for all three contested races, and the Sec of State said gently caress you, we go with whatever number you have at the deadline. So that's a bomb waiting to go off. Also I think I saw something that said the State GOP wants the State Police involved in the recount because of course.

The State GOP can't order the FDLE though. The governor would have to put that in writing and he has nothing to give them, so he won't.

There are going to be a lot more lawsuits than the ones already pending.

I, too, remember when Bernard Sanders wrote fondly of using domestic slaves and later even refused court orders to release his slaves. Very problematic. He should be like the other candidates that are very sensitive to these issues.

sure, he can do better, we all can do better, we should push each other to be better; what is more problematic and telling is how these headlines are used for character assassination rather than actually seeking to improve society (not always the fault of the author, possibly editor's decision)

i really am looking forward to the next few years of smears against bernie. their main attack is "In neither statement did Sanders indict voters for backing racist candidates,". go down a few more paragraphs, and there is a gillum quote in which he says “I’m not calling Mr. DeSantis a racist, I’m simply saying the racists believe he’s a racist.” so bernie says the same thing (if not slightly more direct) than gillum.

the article also points out that hillary clinton's deplorables speech became a rallying cry for trump supporters because it called them racists, and that calling racist voters racists is politically unwise. why should bernie repeat the mistakes of clinton's campaign?

It's already been posted but here's an article, for people unfamiliar with Richard Ojeda:

https://theintercept.com/2018/11/11/richard-ojeda-2020-president/

quote:

RICHARD OJEDA is running for president. Ojeda, a West Virginia state senator and retired U.S. Army major, lost his congressional bid in the state’s 3rd District on Tuesday, but saw the largest swing of Trump voters toward Democrats in any district around the country — overperforming 2016 by more than 35 points. Still, in a district Donald Trump carried by 49 points, Ojeda, who rose to prominence leading teacher strikes in West Virginia, lost by 12 points.

Bernie Sanders isn't really a socialist, he just plays one on TV. Maybe when he was young and idolized Eugene Debs, but there is a distinct lack of Marxist thought in his policy prescriptions or speeches. Basically he's a New Deal Democrat and 50 years ago that was the moderate, centrist position.

If your area is vehemently anti-democrat, run as an independent. If it is not, attend party meetings and start organizing yourself. There might even be a thread or two about people in similar situations sharing stories and strategies.
