This makes sense to me because if you look at Trump's real work ethic and compare it to how many rallies he attended to support Republicans the outcome is not at all what he was being promised by his idiot children and other stooges.

This guys ego is gigantic and his crowd sizes did not keep the Republican party in power as intended.

The great thing about the thousands of slaughtered Palestinian children is that they can't pull away when you fondle them or sniff their hair.

That's a Biden success story.

Not up to read a 220 page report but the end makes it sound like a bunch of he said they said stuff mixed in with some general chaos of moving and a dash of pranks. Kind of concerning that the transition isn't better organized but.../shrug.

Fact Check was less damning in their summary stating.

quote:

As far as “computer wires and electrical outlets” being ripped from the walls, the GAO said that White House employees had reported observing several telephone wires that had been ripped from the walls, but a repair request to the GSA did not refer to the wires as being “ripped.” Instead, the request asked repair staff to “organize all loose wires and make them not so visible.” The GAO concluded that “even though the staff made these observations … we did not know when and how the wires became separated from the walls.”

And the GAO reported that “at least $9,324 was spent to repair and replace items that were observed broken or missing in specific locations and for cleaning services in offices where observations were made.” But there was no mention of “damage [of] several thousand dollars worth of furniture in the White House master bedroom,” as the e-mail alleges. According to the GAO, its report focused on “observations that were made in the West Wing of the White House and the EEOB [Eisenhower Executive Office Building] during the transition, and not the White House residence or the NEOB [New Executive Office Building].”

Also, damage to the White House master bedroom wasn’t among the incidents reported by the Washington Post’s Mike Allen, who, on June 2, 2001, received a copy of the list of damage compiled by the White House from press secretary Ari Fleischer. According to Allen’s report, the list included: “obscene graffiti in six offices, a 20-inch-wide presidential seal ripped off a wall, 10 sliced telephone lines and 100 inoperable computer keyboards.” Also reported were “pornographic or obscene greetings” on telephones in the vice president and White House counsel offices. Allen wrote that incidents described by Fleischer reportedly occurred mainly in the Executive Office Building next door to the White House.

And frankly given the tentative relationship the Right has with reality and truth, I remain skeptical. Then again given how the 2000 election turned out I really couldn't blame anyone in the outgoing administration for being a little bitter. Further given how that outcome hosed the country and the world.

Trump was doing nonstop rallies the last few weeks leading up to the election so he was riding high. Rallies are pretty much his favorite thing to do, he gets to rant while his most diehard fans cheer and hoot and chant for Clinton and journalists to be imprisoned.

Then the election results came in and it was a huge whiplash for his ego. He's not getting any positive attention so it's going to all be angry paranoid lashing out. I imagine this will be among the darkest, chaotic, and most unhinged periods in his presidency.

The GAO isn't "the right", but I'll grant you that some incoming staffer might have pretended to find a prank they constructed themselves or just lied about it, but the conclusion I was quoting from actually isn't very harsh. Yeah, a couple of pranks happened, but most of the damage was attributable to years of wear and tear plus moving a bunch of office furniture around in a hurry.

I didn't intent to paint the GAO as "the Right" their part was pretty dry "X was reported" "We observed X" "X unable to conclude when X occurred and or what the intent of X was". I was referring to the framing that the "Right" used to present it.

But I agree the conclusion was a few harmless pranks and general wear and tear but the Republicans (aka the Right) dressed it up and tried to see it like it was some sort of organized intentional effort to vandalize the White House prior to the transition. And after years of them doing this kind of weaselly poo poo I'm always skeptical when someone starts claiming that some Democrat did some awful thing. Because more often or not when I dig into it, it turns out to be nothing close to how it's presented.

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted the Southeast regional administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and a former Alabama Environmental Management Commissioner for violating state ethics laws.

Charges include multiple violations of Alabama’s Ethics Act, including soliciting a thing of value from a principal, lobbyist or subordinate, and receiving money in addition that received in one’s official capacity, according to the Alabama Ethics Commission.

Before being appointed by President Donald Trump to serve as the Region 4 administrator of the EPA, Trey Glenn worked closely with the Birmingham-based law firm Balch & Bingham and one of its clients, Drummond Co., to fight EPA efforts to test and clean up neighborhoods in north Birmingham and Tarrant.

If Mueller wanted to get into a fight, they wouldn't have a choice. The precedent is pretty firm here and the president cannot refuse a subpoena. The catch is that he'd fight it kicking and screaming every step of the way and it's very likely that talking to ol' donkey brains wouldn't add anything to the evidence that Mueller already has. So why not let him submit written answers and then if Mueller decides he needs a face to face with Trump that option is still open.

The GOP has openly admitted its hoping a corrupt SCOTUS will allow them to effectively ignore subpoenas. I think the GOP will try to kill the investigation before it gets to the possibility of a subpoena, but if we do get that far I expect the subpoena paperwork will be lost a thousand times over until they get a solid confirmation from the bench that nobody’s gonna hurt the GOP.
