Just hoping that housing in Maryland doesn't get as crazy. Helps that my wife and I don't want kids so suddenly buying a house isn't as much of a poo poo show since we don't have to worry about school systems and such when looking around.

If they're bringing ~25k tech jobs that's probably like 20k transplants since the area is at full employment++ They all won't want to live in VA, or more likely won't be able to all live in VA anyway, so they have to go somewhere. And then you've got the regular people that already live in the area looking to buy a house that get priced out.

i always vote for tax increases for schools and infrastructure because i don't care if .3% of my check every month goes to at least maybe possibly fixing this poo poo but it's just...20k transplants is a lot of loving people, considering they're all mostly going to be high paid white collar jobs

I'm inwardly gloating because my maga family pushed me a few weeks ago about my opinion on the caravan and I told them I thought it was being played up as a political issue because of the election, where I was greeted with a bunch of "What do you know, you don't even watch the news."
