Still stinks that we're getting these forgettable remakes, while they backed out of letting Joseph Kosinski remake The Black Hole.

Rob Zombie is the only director who should be allowed to make movies about quirky circus people.

Funnily enough I was just talking to someone yesterday about how the final season being a disappointment means I remember it overall in a less good light and am more likely to forget about it when thinking of the best shows of the decade but it really is so goddamn good holy poo poo (plus I just finished s1 of Deadwood with Ray McKinnon as the preacher and man no wonder he’s such a good director of actors, he’s incredible in the role) Widows is definitely a pulpy thriller but it’s a smart pulpy thriller with great character work. I also liked Wildlife very much, although not as much as Widows. Good low-stakes choice for Dano to make for his first movie. I had forgotten just how talented Carey Mulligan really is, she’s loving stupendous, almost terrifying at times

Women On The Verge of a Mental Breakdown is fun, but kinda left me wanting. I guess I'm just not that huge on Pedro Almodovar's stuff, even though his films should totally be my poo poo on paper. This is the third time this year I've tried. Maybe there's something I'm not getting? I love his color palette, though.
