It's not necessarily a matter of recasting. They wrote Garnet and Giada out as retiring from military life to start a family and have kids. I could see them doing something similar with Excellen, especially considering that it's a topic she's broached before. I think if they wrote her out at all, it would be in a an uplifting and respectful way.

I reckon the last dangling Einst plot thread is Beowulf, who's likely going to come in tied with L's originals (Gloria is all but surely the president of the SM World's Federation). If so, you really should have Kyosuke and Alfimi for that, meaning Excellen has to come in as well. For that matter, I could potentially see one of the girls being killed by Bad Kyosuke as a way to raise the stakes (Alfimi's more likely), but not both. They could recast her with Xiaomu's VA, who has a pretty similar voice, but I think it's way more likely they'll just keep them both around with Mizutani's lines. Retirement can wait until after Beowulf is dealt with.

I wouldn't want or expect her to be written off summarily. I could envision a mini-story or even a manga thing that summarizes it. Sort of a farewell chapter, like what they did for Sumire in Sakura Wars when Michie Tomizawa retired (in her case, they made a whole OVA, but that's likely not in the cards here).

Have they actually recast anyone in an SRW game outside of characters who never appeared before the death of their original VA? Bright doesn't really count, because he had already been recast for Unicorn so it wasn't their decision so much as it was taking advantage of what's in the series included. Of course, OG characters have specific lines for everything in a way characters in the licensed games don't. The absence of that for all the new enemies would be very noticeable, and recasting your own characters is different to using a new VA for a character someone else owns, so it could still happen.

Grendizer may have absent from F because Tomiyama died around the production of SRW 4S, in fact if I'm reading this correctly Duke was one of the few main characters who had no voice acting at all in that game (the other being Zambot's Kappei; only main characters had voice acting in 4S, from what I'm reading).

Apparantly, the series list for the next mainline SRW got leaked: Series include: Zambot 3, Daitarn 3, Aura Battler Dunbine, Gundam ZZ, Char's Counterattack, Victory Gundam , Gundam Wing EW, Gundam SEED Destiny, Gundam Unicorn, Gundam IBO, Cross Ange, New Getter Robo, Mazinger Z Infinity, Gaogaigar and Gaogaigar FINAL, Sakura Taisen, Saber Marionette J, Chouja Raideen, and Macross Delta. Gotta say that's a mixed bag IMO. I think Zambot, Daitarn, and especially Cross Ange have overstayed their welcome. Kinda iffy on Gundam Wing EW, and SEED too. Unicorn, IBO, New Getter, and Gaogaigar are much appreciated though.

This leak doesn't really have that much credibility to it, though I don't think it's because of SMJ like a lot of people believe because SRW doesn't care very much about the sanctity of the mecha genre or whatever. I still think it's very likely to be an OG reveal.
