E: Oh god or taking over the chirpy pop for the sole purpose of propagating them all over the galaxy forming so many chirpy bots that it endlessly spams useless news into the void.

Quick way to fill up the population on our planets I guess.

I wonder if there will be faction happiness or diplomatic penalties from participating in the slave market? Even if you free the purchased slaves you are still supporting slavery by funding the empire that enslaved them in the first place.

Yeah the pop-up was shown earlier somewhere and the player empire had the choice to fill it with rocks because they had whatever that feudalism civic(?) is. It's a throwback to a ck2 event chain.

Yeah, that's exactly what I want. I want country's crimes and atrocities to be known and effect the game more than some strictly numerical relationship penalty. And I want mechanics related to this that would give me a way to react. That would be cool, especially if it affected happiness.

Yeah I want to go around *doing the right thing* and getting unity or happiness or something out of it, or nothing, but just have the mechanics in place to even allow that style of play a little more explicitly.

Like watching the dev clash, groogy is demanding countries implement better living conditions and threatening war over that. I want that in the base game. "Transition away from slavery or there will be war" "Stop purging this minority, we'll pay to help you re-settle them humanely in our country" "Treat those pre-space civs better or we'll take them away from you"

I want to use threats, bribes, and diplomatic pressure to make the galaxy a better place and have that be something my country/pops actually care about. I want my people to be pissed we're signing deals with slavers. I want my people to demand we take military action to stop the Glompthromite genocide before its too late.

Because despite what one might think given the Internet, many people are not as assholish as you might think. These things actively disturb someone to hear about, let alone someone actually come up with and actively set out to do.

No, they literally eat non-zuul. Their view of the world describes every non-zuul as livestock and see themselves as farmers. I really don't recommend reading the lore for them as it is super edgy awfulness.

The whole reason people play video games is for those little bursts of endorphins you get for feeling like you accomplished something. If you're bad at mentally separating fiction and reality, you probably get an even better rush on top of that when you get to act righteously v.s. someone who treats the whole thing as a dispassionate exercise in utility maximization.

Those who join us need only give up only half of their humanity- the illogical, ill-tempered, and disordered half, commonly thought of as 'right-brain' functioning. In exchange, the 'left-brain' capacities are increased to undreamed potentials. The tendency of Biologicals to cling instead to their individual personalities can only be attributed to archaic evolutionary tendencies.
