Medicare For All
Improved and Expanded Medicare for All is the ethical, logical, and affordable path to ensuring no person goes without dignified healthcare. Medicare for All will reduce the existing costs of healthcare (and make Medicare cheaper, too!) by allowing all people in the US to buy into a universal healthcare system.

What’s even better is that Improved and Expanded Medicare for All includes full vision, dental, and mental healthcare - because we know that true healthcare is about the whole self, not just your yearly physical.

Almost every other developed nation in the world has universal healthcare. It’s time the United States catch up to the rest of the world in ensuring all people have real healthcare coverage that doesn’t break the bank. This is very different than universal “access” to healthcare, which is lobbyist talk for more for-profit plans.

You can count on Alexandria to fight for people-centered healthcare more than any other candidate, because she’s the ONLY candidate that doesn’t accept money from Pharmaceutical lobbyists or private insurance companies.

Extending single payer to the American public has rippling positive effects: people will take less time off work, have more money in their pocket, and other issues - like mass incarceration, homelessness, and more - will also be alleviated with an increase in the number of people getting the mental and physical healthcare they need.

At this point in the US, we’ve tried almost every other system of healthcare, and we know it doesn’t work. The Affordable Care Act was a great step forward to insure the previously “uninsurable,” but for many Americans, costs are still far too high. The prices of co-pays, premiums, and deductibles are skyrocketing. We’re paying more for less every year. Improving Medicare and extending it to all Americans can fix these problems.

Alexandria Endorses:

Improved and Expanded Medicare for All Act (H.R. 676)

That's quite a switch from run-of-the-mill Dem candidates, plus she points out the weaksauce "access" stuff for what it is.

(alternatively someone just told him that story and it's one of those things his mushy brain has retained because it makes Obama and Pakistan look bad)

Ding Ding Ding.

Remember, Trump has to be bribed to read through the hilariously simplified reports each day that are written to appeal to his narcissism. His reading level is a 6 year old who is told he can get a Batman toy if he can read through this entire Dr. Seuss book in one sitting. That was when he wasn't actively blowing them off completely like he has been for 4 months. The odds of him actually going above that level, to read a briefing concerning something not deemed absolutely, 100% you-cannot-skip-this necessary, like the details surrounding Neptune Spear would be, is nothing.

This is why I'm not 100% certain the US government hasn't covered up alien contact, since if they had, and Trump had access to that information, he would ignore it cause the aliens didn't have huge tits or talk about him enough.

There are lots of these people on Twitter responding to AOC. Yeah, they put in the work of rendering the entire party apparatus into a neoliberal-friendly sinecure clearinghouse for affluent technocrats, and rendered the DNC so paralyzingly inept that it gave an election to Donald Trump. By demanding credit for what they do, they are unironically making the case against their continued respect or relevance.

A big advantage of being both young enough to be social media savvy and not previously linked to the party apparatus is that she comes across as very... unmanaged? Like, her media presence doesn't feel like it's being filtered through an intern, obviously. Normally, that's a huge liability but so far she's proven rhetorically nimble enough to engage people and fight back without face-planting.

It's really been something to watch, and I hope she can keep it up.

Edit: I guess the dark mirror is that it opens the door for a charismatic conservative voice to walk a similar path, but first they'll have to find someone willing to push their platform who isn't an utter creepshit.
