Ding Ding Ding. Remember, Trump has to be bribed to read through the hilariously simplified reports each day that are written to appeal to his narcissism. His reading level is a 6 year old who is told he can get a Batman toy if he can read through this entire Dr. Seuss book in one sitting. That was when he wasn't actively blowing them off completely like he has been for 4 months. The odds of him actually going above that level, to read a briefing concerning something not deemed absolutely, 100% you-cannot-skip-this necessary, like the details surrounding Neptune Spear would be, is nothing. This is why I'm not 100% certain the US government hasn't covered up alien contact, since if they had, and Trump had access to that information, he would ignore it cause the aliens didn't have huge tits or talk about him enough.

Middle aged to elderly liberals (usually they strongly self-identify as capital-D Democrats) hating on AOC and saying stuff like "she needs to wait her turn" and "she needs to respect her elder party members who have put in the work" is gold and will also be the death of the party if it's not stamped out. There are lots of these people on Twitter responding to AOC. Thank gently caress Pelosi seems savvy enough to recognize this and is actively working towards getting young progressives prominent committee positions according to some article I saw recently. Elder party members have "put in the work" of propping up the fat bloated corpse of a fascist-allowing neoliberal pond scum party and they deserve only scorn. No war but generation war

Its very disingenuous because this kind of person surely loves Obama now despite thinking he was a flash-in-the-pan who would get owned by their preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton, and never quite grasped that Clinton is chronically incapable of running a competent campaign even after the 2016 disaster. They probably want Hillary or Biden 2020. Do you like my Democrat strawman.

A big advantage of being both young enough to be social media savvy and not previously linked to the party apparatus is that she comes across as very... unmanaged? Like, her media presence doesn't feel like it's being filtered through an intern, obviously. Normally, that's a huge liability but so far she's proven rhetorically nimble enough to engage people and fight back without face-planting. It's really been something to watch, and I hope she can keep it up. Edit: I guess the dark mirror is that it opens the door for a charismatic conservative voice to walk a similar path, but first they'll have to find someone willing to push their platform who isn't an utter creepshit. Looking at some of the comments on that AOC tweet from a couple of pages back, I literally cannot fathom the mindset of people who say "I would sooner be driven into bankruptcy or watch my children suffer terrible preventable illnesses because I can't afford to pay for their treatment than accept ONE PENNY OF ASSISTANCE FROM THE GOVERNMENT FOR SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE!!!" I'm a Brit, so I've grown up with the NHS, but... what the gently caress? I mean, what the actual gently caress? This isn't just brainworms, this is actively harming yourself and your family over ideology, and a particularly callous and malevolent ideology at that. Seriously, there are people saying that any form of socialised medicine is actual slavery because people are being forced to work for less money than they could get in a free market. How do you even get through to anyone with this level of lunatic stupidity?
