Darchangel posted:I played Astro Bot on an acquaintance’s PSVR recently, and was amazed at how well it worked. It was beautiful. Astro Bot is a super cute little platformer that's really clever in the way you actually use the tech. Wipeout HD in VR made me feel violently ill. Rez is Rez so fantastic but I feel the standard HD version is best. Tetris Effect is incredibly immersive though and a super cool use of the headset and likely the one I'd play a long way down the line because the underlying game itself is just so good. The way the game is now linked to the music playing is super cool and there's times where you're getting snowed under due to the track heating up, your stack is approaching the top and then the song breaks and you can clear up your loving mess. You can use zone mode from stacking up lines, it causes any lines you get to stack up at the bottom and once it times out however many lines you stack up disappear at once. The max you can get is 16 lines which is a decahexatris. It's a seriously cool game, just a pity it's a Playstation exclusive.

Well it's got some ugly dents and I don't know if a coat of paint will fix it. Edit: The wife just picked up the first half of the LVT flooring. Roughly 950 sqft in total, for free. Photo doesn't really do the color justice. It's really nice stuff, they use it in the overpriced apartments we currently live in. Rhyno fucked around with this message at 23:04 on Nov 21, 2018 |

I woke up in a cold sweat with the entrails from a PSVR bundle strewn about the apartment. While playing some Beat Saber, I noticed something brush against my leg and I freaked the gently caress out. Throw the headset off, and there's this girl just laying there: (Also slumlord apartment, carpet is coming loose, needs to be stretched) After rolling around for a bit, she left. Goodbye mystery kitty! I hope you didn't bring me bedbugs.

I installed Schlage keypads on front and back doors (but also bought ones that had a key backup in case they failed). Holy hell what a great upgrade for my small house. Love them and I got them about half off on an Amazon sale. For the past year my left small toe has been painful and I didn’t know if it was a bunion or corn or tumor or what as I just have never had any foot issues. After googling and reading about bunion surgeries and all that I just decided to say gently caress it and I cut the hard bump/mass off. Instant relief by id say 90+ % and it didn’t even bleed. What the hell was it? It looked like just a hard white/yellow hard pimple or similar. I can’t believe I have lived with this for so many months.

Are the doors / locks all pretty modern / standard sized? Older ones can be different sizes and you might have to do a bit of work to put in a new lock. In my case it was just easier / cheaper to have a locksmith come in and re-key the locks. This is a 1947 house though.

I locked myself out of my apartment once and, never having made a bump key before, did a quick google on my phone and used the file on my leatherman (glovebox) along with useless key to my old house that was still in the trunk to make one. It worked first try

Oh yeah the locksmith didn't recommend the quick rekeying system for some reason. Also I think opinions were mixed in the DIY forum. Do some research on that.

You can simply break the quick rekey systems with a good flat blade screwdriver. I must have missed that because holy poo poo do not buy. I know that locks "keep honest people honest" but seriously go up a grade from kwikset. You don't have to splurge on a Medeco to be better.

Ironically the only door at work we've had broken into had a keypad lock on it. They didnt actually defeat the lock, they just took a sawzall to the door and carved the lock physically out of the door. Must have been crackheads who thought that there was expensive poo poo behind it- we only had a keypad on it cos it was easier to tell casual staff a combo than supply every new hire with a key. They destroyed a $400 door to open a room full of paper coffee cups and napkins. We upgraded all our doors at work to swipe key access with magnetic locks. You'll bust the hinges out before you'll get the maglocks to let go. On a different note, when the robots rise up and end the human race, its going to be firmly Boston Dynamics fault. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHBcVlqpvZ8
