Popular culture has passed you by.

The Beatles' Yellow Submarine had a monster glove that they defeated by singing All you need is Glove, this one seems to be Glove's nudist cousin.

It's neat that even this far back in comics history the hero is wearing primary colors and the villain is wearing secondary colors.

The art therapy major/comics nerd in me has always wondered if that's why Aquaman never got a good rap. I mean, look at that dude, he's basically Lex Luthor wearing Aquaman's colorway.

Edit: on further reflection, I can see why they made Aquaman orange and green; he's gonna be splashing around the ocean for most of his pages, blue sure as poo poo ain't gonna work. Guess that was the best contrast option that seemed aquatic?

Given his characterization post-WWII, I've always enjoyed that even someone who is as focused on Atlantis first and is as self absorbed as Namor is looked at Nazis, and went :cmon: and started wrecking 'em.

Is there a modern re-telling of the whole Invaders crew coming together? Is it good?

Hitler's 3-fold plan:

1. Human Torch: Get a blood sample and clone a fiery army.
2. Captain America: Unlock the secrets of vibranium from his shield.
3: Namor: Steal his pants.

Namor would be a prime example of that "He left traces of his DNA all over the city" dialogue from JLU but with what Terry thought it was about.

Talk of the invaders and og human torch reminds me of a question I had, I remember some panel where cap in modern day is introducing Jim to someone and cap says "he killed Hitler" did that event ever actually happen in a book or was that something that they added/retconned in later and we never got to see it?

That’s Cap introducing Jim to Flash Thompson while he was Venom, if I recall. And yeah OG torch kills Hitler.

That's actually Roy Thomas doing a callback to something that really happened in a Golden Age comic, because that's how he rolls.

From Young Men #24, the issue that began the brief Fifties revival of the Human Torch, Namor, and Captain America (the Commie Smasher version that was later retconned into being an evil McCarthyite imitator of the real Cap).
