The north's got all those social reforms just dangling for the taking (and those border forts that so much time and money was spent on), but the south has Qadis, the province from whence the LP sprung and to where it returned when everything went to pieces, as well as Qattalunya, home to the glories of the Tirrunids. There's also a weird appeal of fascism in these games about maps, since the moving of borders around already represents a total disregard for the people living there, massive violations of humanity aren't too far away from that. Also I'd just like to point out that everything that just happened, people in the thread said it was impossible. Rebels posing a major threat, a big war happening without somehow triggering the Great War, and the rise of fascism. Comedy option: Andulasian Khedive In Vicky 2 terms, the Khedive is hilarioisly strong: Huge population, vast potential for industrial expansion, big coastline and states for a large navy, and basically one giant pocket of attrition causing jungles and mountains. Beyond its warmaking potential, it is however hamstrung by low literacy and hardly any right culture pops, so if this happened in 1880, the Khedive would fall to pieces by 1920 under the ludicrously high militancy it would have, especiqlly with zero reforms.

ByzLP ended up probably the nicest place to live of any LP nations by the end of the story (or pause point anyways, it's not dead just in conversion forever), but it took multiple periods of horrifyingly bloody violence and revolutions to get it that way. AzeriLP is probably second place, although it had its own share of troubles and also is sort of a nobody on the world stage compared to the major Great Power that the Byzantine Commune became. Otherwise you've got Hohenzollern the fashy hell, Jerusalem drove humanity extinct, GRTW stratified ultracapitalist hell devastated by nuclear war, and who else made it through Victoria that I'm forgetting?
