This world as a whole actually isn't that bad. We've only had a handful of fascist powers so far and most of the major nations in the world is either constitutional monarchy or straight up representative republics. Colonialism is still awful, India in this TL is even more screwed than India in our timeline and the Khedivate is a specific horror. If the north wins the civil war and then also manages to sidestep internecine purging of the moderate and liberal elements you could even end up seeing it on the far edge of social democracy rather than going full totalitarian communist.

oh what's probably in the cards is several rounds of brutal infighting in which an authoritarian belgrade-oriented faction consolidates power followed by a grinding and exhausting civil war+ possibly getting dragged into a great war in principle, this might actually *be* the great war, or the first shots of it - if e.g. serbia decides to intervene directly, for example, other powers might react in kind e. and i am of course genuinely thrilled by this development. this is my all-time favourite paradox lp, because hashim manages to punish us for being idiots without being outright unfair V. May I present the esteemed members of the majlis (those that still live) with a third option? How about C) - Go with the Khedive! why, I would love to host the legitimate government of Al-Andalus in a safe haven in these hostile times. You would have my resources, and my soldiers ,and be given my orders in the interests of reclaiming the homeland. I feel a short story is fitting here. The Congolese here have a position in every village, which I believe translates most closely to (in the language of the prophet) laeib allueba, who would judge the king's conduct. If the king was deemed to be unfit to rule, every laeib allueba would simultaneously rise up, enter through a special gate in the city, and depose the king. It seems you have displeased the laeib allueba of andalusia.

Is there any chance of intervention from outside powers? It'd be hilarious to see Serbia organize international brigades while the other Great Powers give direct or passive support to the Sultan.

Serbia won't be able to do very much, they're not exactly a world power and have their own poo poo to deal with in the Balkans. The other Great Powers will be looking to curbing the communist revolution though, Al Andalus has been a constant threat and world power throughout large parts of the LP, so they're definitely not gonna be happy with Iberia suddenly becoming the haven of communism in the west. Something will have to be done about all these radicals.

Fascist al-Andalus is the one with all the prestige and also the really miserable relations with France and Morocco, there are better odds of their AI offering help to the Communists than old al-Andalus unless the event spawning the faction included a -200 in relations with those powers for the Newdalus.

Also, didn't the Germans just win a civil war against (proto)fascists? Maybe some of them are still willing to take up arms for the gallant cause of punching fascism.
