Yeah I definitely agree that a peripheral is a better buy, but he lives on the other side of the country and I can't really call him and ask (he's on the part of the spectrum that makes social interaction esp with your sister's fiance super difficult; ditto this for finding out who his favorite champion is) so I have no way of knowing if his current mouse is hot garbage or if he is already using the dopest 20-button mechanical mouse on the market. So maybe a combo of RP and a Newegg gift card or something...hmm... Also, +1 for Razer being trash, everything I ever bought from them has broken or failed in some spectacular way. Like the rubberizing coating on a keyboard just turning into a thousand annoying boogers. Booooo Razer.

The longest-lasting mice I've had have generally been cheap, simple Logitech or Amazon Basics ones. Never forget that when a company sinks a lot of money into fancy bullshit and marketing you ultimately end up paying for it in the end if you buy their crap. Often they're relying on that rather than actually making a good product. Sometimes it's the simple, basic thing that isn't trying to impress you with fancy colors or a celebrity endorsement that's built like a tank and will last forever.

My Logitech G502 is the best mouse I've ever owned (came goon recommended in the tech forum) But I don't need a bunch of extra buttons. I've heard bad things about the razer mice. My razer keyboard was probably too expensive (when I bought it a few years ago, they've come down in price a bit) but it is very good, on the other hand. Honestly if someone gave me a 75$ RP card I'd think that was a super thoughtful gift. There's infinite toys to buy with RP and even if he doesn't want something right now new stuff gets released constantly.

Extra buttons can be more of a nuisance than anything. I got sick of accidentally pushing the buttons on the sides of a 5 button mouse. Two buttons and a scroll wheel is enough for like, everything. I guess the scroll wheel is also a third button but I pretty much never actually use it. My keyboard is a fancy mechanical ergonomic keyboard that is heavy enough to bludgeon somebody with. Well, it doesn't look fancy but it's one of the kinds that programmers like as it makes typing easier and doesn't give you carpel tunnel. I care about such things because I'm a programmer.

On the other hand I have one of those obnoxious looking MMO mice that has a million buttons on it and it’s super nice to level skills up with a slight thumb shift. There’s that one pro guy who uses a mouse wheel so who fuckin cares what you use.

Got an Anivia pentakill in Baron's pit.  My Blackfrost skin was actually a gifted to me after I got an Anivia pentakill on Dominion - casually strolled up from bot into a jungle fight and picked off anyone trying to run. Anyone have any favorite blind pick top laners for me to pick up this preseason? Lots of maokai and pre-nerf swain last season, but I am bad at maokai. And league. Just looking for something I can pick without being grossly countered. I’m trying sion and Camille. E: like, maokai was my most played champ and I had a 40% win rate.

Cho has pretty good lane sustain and wave clear. He's not ever really a bad choice since his builds are easily adaptable - he can bully and burst when he's ahead or poke from distance and farm safely when he's behind. Karma is also a reliable laner for when you don't have a mage mid, and she makes plenty of top laners miserable by kiting them in circles. She's risky to dive whenever Mantra is up and she can wave clear safely from distance, so it's hard to shut her out of lane even if the matchup isn't favorable.

I’m trying sion and Camille. renekton has always been my go-to blind pick, he's pretty straightforward to play and doesn't really get poo poo on by anything sion is strong overall but people will counter with darius a lot so either get good at that matchup or ban it. camille is more of a scaling champ that doesn't beat people in lane

anyone have Xin Zhao tips? if i build him for damage and go aggressive early it works out but if the games go long I just melt. if I build him tanky I can't seem to confirm kills as easy. I'm sure I'm just bad, should I be prioritizing attack speed first? going jg item into triforce seems greedy?

Your goal is to get your lanes far enough ahead that there won't be a lategame for you to get melted in. Build Warrior -> Triforce or Warrior -> Hexdrinker -> Triforce if they're very magic heavy. I've seen a couple Xin players go Righteous Glory if they're having trouble getting midgame fights going. There's honestly no real special trick to playing him; he's a champion who's entirely about knowing the enemy jungler's path and either exploiting the opposite side of the map they're on or matching them with a countergank. If you're struggling to get things going, it's rarely a bad idea to start Red and go straight for a level 2 gank mid, especially if you're in low MMR.

hes designed to go triforce. he can use any stat and gets massively boosted by cdr. cdr lowers cooldown on e, attackspeed makes q lower cooldown on e faster. rage passive from phage also makes him stick better. if xin sticks on you with ult then he can serve his role lategame. good timing on ult is key for being relevant lategame. before he could go full tank but tank items are nerfed across the board and they shafted his base AS + nerfed e damage split skilling between q and e because the magic damage on e actually matters warrior triforce tabi is the build. after that you can go titanic or ga but the game should be decided by that point.

People will pick Darius and Aatrox into you but overall if you just focus on building tanky its hard for them to really crush lane off you. If you think you can instead get good momentum off then, you can also build him with Titanic Hydra + Steraks and watch as you poo poo out damage. Yorick is also pretty easy to learn and has pretty good matchups into a fair ampunt of toplaners - but has some specifically horrendous matchups if people understand what you're doing.
