Just to sum up, this week Corsi confirmed he actively participated in a conspiracy with Roger Stone and Ted Malloch to coordinate the release of hacked emails that Julian Assange was in possession of, in order to benefit the Trump campaign. Then we got confirmation secret deals were going on behind the scenes, all the way through when the Trump Tower meeting was happening, that Trump and his family all knew about and repeatedly denied (some, like Don Jr., denied it under oath). Those deals involved direct communication between Trump's personal attorney and Dmitry Peskov, Putin's press secretary, among many others. Also, Mueller has confirmed he will charge people with lying to Congress even without an explicit referral from the committee that was lied to. eke out fucked around with this message at 16:50 on Nov 29, 2018 |

Ah, so Cohen probably has binders full of audio he secretly recorded of interactions regarding all this as well as e-mails and texts, which could make sense that they'd torch Manafort over his lies. Could be a hint to others of the kind of stuff Mueller's got so, "don't even think about trying to lie."

Cohen was literally Trump's partner in all his scams, crimes and payoffs of women he had affairs with. So naturally Trump spends years making GBS threads on him and then disowns him after he's elected.

He defended one of the most brazen, illegal racial gerrymanders in recent history on behalf of the NC GOP. I suppose an argument could be made that he was just representing a client and wasn't expressing his own personal opinion, but he chose to defend this case, and it was so egregious that it ought to be disqualifying for him to serve as a federal judge. If the GOP somehow fails to confirm him this year, then they'll just wait to next year when Flake is gone and they have 2 more votes in the Senate.

It should definitely be front and center in campaigns in 2020, but I doubt that Michigan's house and senate will switch to the dems until after the redistricting. The gerrymandering here is nuts, but we passed a proposal for an independent (eh, sorta, but I'll take it) redistricting commission. It was a constitutional amendment, so it can't overridden in the same way. There's a nice example of a district here: http://www.michiganradio.org/post/5-things-know-about-ballot-proposal-end-gerrymandering-michigan 2022 might see some serious changes come to Michigan.

On a smaller scale I have personally known the sort of person who will unhappily live in a mess of another persons doing indefinitely, complaining all the while, but unwilling to fix it because it wasn't their fault, they shouldn't have to.

There were a lot of press articles as the raids were starting they detailed how in private and speaking to others that Trump poo poo on Cohen constantly. Trump would even be a dick to Cohen in front of others to show dominance in a typically narcissistic fashion. That Cohen was such a lickspittle for so long despite years of this is probably why they expected him to stay loyal. Which is an utterly dumb calculation but also fairly typical of a narcissist. That plus all the public distancing when the heat started with not a scintilla of loyalty or affirmation in the press plus sending him along hat in hand when he showed up worried about his legal fees. They only kept him around as a fall guy because they thought they could control the aftermath. Yiggy fucked around with this message at 18:16 on Nov 29, 2018 |
