How well do hairless cats deal with the cold, anyway? I've honestly always thought they looked a bit weird, but this thread has brought me around on it. But do they need to kept more warm and comfy than cats with big fur coats, or do their skin/fat deposits handle it for them?

A good rule of thumb is if you're cold, they're cold. It dropped into the 50s this week in Florida, which meant Rexie was bundled in a poofy jacket and blanket for her trip to the vet for a recheck. (Good news - her diet+meds regimen has improved her intestines so much that her dose has been reduced to 25% of what it originally was and her ultrasounds look almost like a normal cat's!) On the one hand, I'm amazed at the idea of a cat that won't make everything around the house fuzzy. On the other hand, not being able to bring him/her out into the snow in the winter would be a major loss of cuteness and fun.
