Pete hines said that to host a server you have to rent from them, so there won't be any modded servers, just private ones for buds I guess

What really gets me about this game is that it’s supposed to be their way of breaking into the ~Games as a Service~ market. If it were a regular singleplayer Fallout game then pushing it out half-finished and refusing to refund people would be a profitable, albeit extremely shortsighted, business strategy. However, this is the sort of game which hopes to make its money off of people continually playing and buying.

In other words, Bethesda has cut as many corners as possible in the first Fallout game where it actually matters to them whether or not players keep playing it after buying it.

Well, I’m glad it adds something to the game, at least. However, I think it is to my point that the main thing pvp does is to enhance pve.

It will be like Minecraft Realms where you pay them a subscription fee to host private, whitelist-able servers on their infrastructure. If they support mods at all it will be from a specific pre-approved list under the guise of ~maintaining the stability of their platform~.

Maybe, I am not a expert but I heard obsidian problem is size. They are medium size so have problems small and big companies dont have. And are forced to do games for other companies.

NWN2/FNV/Alpha protocol were the only obsidian games that are buggy. 2/3 of those they weren't using their own engines. Dungeon siege 3, PoE1/2 and tyranny were surprisingly bug free, especially for open world RPGs.

compare them to the pathfinder game that just came out, or dragon age origins, or even BG1/2 on release. that's why i said surprisingly bug free for a open world crpg. :v:

gently caress, DA:O never fixed the literal game breaking save bug that happened in the veil that just crashed your game when you hit a certain point. i don't think there was ever anything clost to that bad in poe1/2.

KOTOR2 had multiple points that could softlock on the main plot path. Aside from infinity engine knockoffs they have managed to release 2 games that weren't fundamentally broken. Not great considering the extent of their failings on the other games.

I'd love to see a patch notes list (from any studio, but especially for this game) that actually accounts for all the bug fixes, instead of lumping them under "Bug Fixes and Improvements" or whatever. Because I guarantee the first thing I'll be doing post-patch is looking for inventory bug news.

Personally I am beyond isometric games at this point.

I played Baldus Gate at release, and Fallout 1, but in 2018 I can't play a isometric game without losing the interest.

I don't want companies to stop making isometric games (some people like them, good for them), but my interest is in 3D games.

The worst thing in this entire game is that you can't turn off stars of perk cards. So if you actually had interest in different builds that all included something to some degree you'd need to pick the perk 5 times to get a 3,2 and 1 star version of it.

I guess KOTOR 2 and New Vegas were a little buggy but they were using engines other companies developed and had VERY strict deadlines to complete them. It's not like they could sit down and spend three years fixing Gamebryo.

Edit: And Alpha Protocol was a mess. My favorite bug: if you reloaded a save in the middle of a level it could delete all the enemies. Pro speedrun strat right there.

Not really a "bug", but NWN2 and Kotor 2 are essentially unfinished games that were released. MGSV status.

As a reminder, Fallout 3 literally is unplayable on Windows 10 without a fanmod / patch. It will not run.
