I'm not an expert but as I understand it there are only two ways for anyone outside of the people who are messaging one another to read those messages: either break the encryption (which assumedly they can't) or engineer a backdoor into the encryption algorithm that can also be discovered and exploited by others.

Seems like his point is simply that aid shipments are a bandaid solution to a worsening climate and the only long term solution is to find a way to live sustainably. Population control is a no brainer, we’re probably producing enough food to feed the current global population but a lot of that production comes from grossly unsustainable industrial agriculture and it wouldn’t surprise me if a sustainable population level living a reasonable quality of life was lower than the current population. If that is the case, I guess it’ll happen one way or another, either via some climate driven catastrophe, planned reductions in birth rates or Trump unleashing a nuclear holocaust when someone leaks his pisstapes.
