First of all he’s not at 50%, that’s the Rasmussen lean. The interesting thing is there is a slight kernel of truth in that tweet. If a “respectable” Republican was currently in office observing the usual decorum, someone like Kaisich, he’d probably be sitting at an over 60% approval rating in this economy. And I mean 60% from reputable pollsters not Rasmussen. Rasmussen would have him at 75%. But thankfully Trump is a complete dumpster fire.

if we had fair elections, the republicans would get crushed everywhere but the senate. i think when people say demographics are destiny they aren't factoring in gerrymandering, voter suppression, stealing absentee ballots, etc.

However, the seats the Dems gained in the midterms were almost all in suburban districts where non-chud republicans/independents - who would have zero problems with a regular republican ghoul - turned against the GOP on account of Trump.
