Yup, 2.7TT F-150s get 18 MPG on Fuelly, with 3.5TT F-150s getting 16 compared to 20-21 and 18-19 respectively in EPA ratings. Though lol the 2.7TT still matches the Tacoma on Fuelly.
My '17 3.5EB gets 15-16. Which sucks.

OTOH, sport mode + tipping the throttle makes the drat thing dig in and haul rear end. So I can't complain. I've hit the rated highway numbers on long cruises at 70. Thats not bad.

I would love to see 16 mpg. I love the 6.2 in the Excaladé but 13 mpg blows.

I assume they knew about the bad results before it went public and had time to get their response ready.
But curious how much manufacturers run/simulate crash tests internally during development? Could it be as involved as shipping mules to IIHS or NCAP?

Or on the other end of the spectrum, do they use whatever engineering principles for mitigating crash energy/damage and hope for the best once tests roll around?

Plenty of digital and real life testing before anything goes to an official testq

So unless it is simply a build quality issue, Jeep knew it was going to score poorly for normal driving?

It's not the worst thing ever but that grille is baaaaaaaaaad. It makes the Ford in the background look positively handsome in comparison.

The Ranger are going to have actual transaction prices identical to F150s, given that their MSRPs aren't that far apart and full size pickups get the most incentives of any class of vehicle.

Seriously though the blindspot in front of that must be huge (unless it has a forward facing camera?). I tried looking up the current silverado on IIHS but for some reason they don't score pedestrian or 3rd party safety. It does get a "Poor" for headlight visibility though which seems strange for something which is nominally a work truck

I don't think that looks as bad as the other ones.

I mean it still looks bad, but it looks aggressive which will appeal to people buying those kinds of things. The other one just looked too busy and stupid. Maybe it's the angle, I don't know. I'd have to see one in person.
