Not yet, but I haven't had as much time to mod as I used to - my own RPGs, a bunch of freelance work you'll start to see next year, and some video game work with deadlines and everything. Depending on how things shake out I might. I am willing to give two mods a try!

As others have said, I think a representative each from the RPG and wargaming spheres would work really well.

Make Jef a mod, he has enough hatred.

(Real answer is Mors Rattus or ARB to handle the rpg side of the spectrum. I'd also favor two mods to cover more bases)

The Death Thread is exactly what I was thinking of when I said "corrosive long-term bad posters". A lot of problems in the ham community lead back to there.

Thank you very much, guys. But yeeah, I probably couldn't keep up. I hang out more in the fantasy football forum these days, then I do here, TGSS notwithstanding.

I would not like to vote on the basis of strategically trying to get rid of a particular thread, poster, or interest area in advance. We want good long-term judgement, endurance, and generally good-natured low-key chill approach to things. A basic subject matter familiarity is sufficient.

B4tBG, ARB, and EvilM would all be good.

yeah that two mod idea sounds good since I didn't even realize folks like beer had migrated over to trad games, so it shows just how separate the minis stuff is from boardgames and playing pretend. Beer seemed to be pretty chill and good back in the space forum, and yeah ARB would be cool too.

Oh yeah I do want to say there are a few of us who crossover between minis games and RPGs. I am one. although I've pulled back from both somewhat and have been more of a boardgamer lately... which is a third tier in this subforum.

So maybe we should have a boardgame nerd, a tabletop wargame nerd, and an elfpretender nerd?

... nah, we just need someone who will be responsive, careful, reasonable, and durable.

On the tabletop side of things we've been pretty good at self-policing slap fights for years, in as much as we can. We do need someone regularly involved though to help bad posters to be less bad through the application of short proabtions. Stop long-term bad faith posters trolling for their own amusement, and generally just know who the troublemakers are so that people being trolled don't get dinged by an out of context report. And to make sure that self-policing doesn't turn into pointless bullying, of course
Nothing dramatic or exceptional, but it requires familiarity and interaction with the community being moderated to avoid people feeling like punishment is arbitrary or one-sided.

I would imagine it's much the same with other groups here.
