thexerox123 posted:Just checked their site for Canada, and here they have it as $78.99 instead of $79.99. What a savings! Yeah, deals here in Canada on Switch games appear to be almost nonexistent. Everyone is just battling over which combination of $79.97, $79.89 or $78.99 to price at this week to come up cheapest on the price aggregator sites. The best you’re likely to get is a generic “Spend X and get a $10 gift card” sort of deal through Shoppers Drug Mart.

Also now I've made the soup in Monster Boy and I woke up the sleeping sailor but I missed the dialog where he said his flag was and now he just says "Did you not find the flag? Take another look in my wrecked ship!" And I have no idea which ship he means or how to enter it because there are at least three wrecked ships in the vicinity

I was baffled and appalled when I watched Limited Run's E3 presentation which openly said that you should buy their products and rather than open them up and play them you should leave them on your shelf and play digital versions of the exact same game.

Forktoss posted:I'm thinking of getting it for playing NES games with the NES Mini controller, do you think it might be good for that purpose too? I don't have the NES mini controllers to test with, unfortunately. It very well might--it depends on which buttons the NES controller has, if that makes any sense. Iirc the NES games use B and Y, so if the NES classic controllers send A and B as inputs, it won't work.

Their entire business model is based on scarcity. Take a digital only game that everyone already has (they only release popular games, of course), then make a, heh, limited run of them, that no one who likes the game actually needs, because they already own it digitally The games sell out within seconds and are on eBay about 10 seconds after that.

Jim Silly-Balls posted:Their entire business model is based on scarcity. Yeah. I had a custom search set up for Slime-san after the pre-orders had closed but before it shipped and it was constantly nearly identical listings of the special edition for $120+, months before the game was actually in anyone's hands. The prices people set on them are wildly inconsistent. Some of them sell for just above the launch price when other people are listing the standard edition at 90 bucks. There are a fuckton of them so I'm sure the speculation won't last because nobody is going to pay 100 dollars for an indie game that's available for 11.

The West of Loathing package is pretty good, but some of the other offerings are a pure cash grab. Nobody wants a copy of Night Trap to play it.

Classic adventure in the blue is better than ever and I'm loving it. Spirit land is...huge and I think you are supposed to dick around in it for a bit then do other stuff and not mainline its 500 fights.

I'm in no way a purist, and just googling how it is on other platforms, there are apparently a few sound or visual glitches here and there, but that's always been the case with Genesis emulators. The games play and look like how I remember them from long ago.
