This seems short for how big the story was. Especially what led up to the fight and what happened after. Disappointing that they couldn't get Tyson. Fun fact about the 42 to 1 odds. The Mirage was the only casino that actually offered bets for the fight winner and they didn't even give a poo poo if they made money from the bets. It was free advertising.

I usually only watch sports passively, but I'm managing 3 bars and I have to stay on top of the listings and schedules. I'm finding it difficult to quickly google things like "directv channel Celtics game" while drunks are yelling at me. The directv website has it listed as being on channel 218, but it's actually on 630. So my questions are 1: Is there a resource that has reliable, location-specific TV listings that tell you what network is broadcasting a specific game? If I knew tonight's Celtics game was on CSNE or NBCSports I could just look the channel number up on directv. But that information is impossible to look up online - it's not on the NBA site, the directv site, or in the first few pages of Google results. And 2: why is it like this? How is this so goddamn obtuse? And what obvious thing am I missing? I get that I need information about the NBA, NFL, nhl, mlb, pay per view fights, races and college sports, across multiple competing broadcasters, but wouldn't they all benefit with clear information at some central neutral site? A wikipedia for TV listings? Please help.

I don't know of any one single site, but usually the team specific sites are good about listing the tv/radio broadcasts. I checked the Celtics website though and it sucks? https://www.foxsports.com/nba/boston-celtics-team-schedule at least has the networks listed if not channel numbers.

Thescore will list the networks that a game is being broadcast on: https://www.thescore.com/nba/events/134993 and they have a phone app.

It sounds like you're in New England so you probably don't get a lot of college football requests but if you do, the greatest college football tv schedule website is, inexplicably, a LSU fan site straight out of 1996 (times all listed in central) http://lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm MourningView fucked around with this message at 15:59 on Dec 11, 2018 |

There's a service called Schedules Direct that maintains TV listings for open-source media centers like MythTV. No idea if it's a fit here, but it's what popped to mind: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Schedules_Direct

Unquestionably the best thing Baseball on ESPN has going for it. I'd put her up there with the best baseball color commentators in the business. She's not perfect and sometimes she tries too hard to overanalyze everything but she's so much better than the majority of color men that it doesn't really matter.

If it wasn't for the fact that it'd rob us of having her in the booth, I'd love to see her do a "breakdown" type show. Like where she does an in-depth analysis of the big games of the day.

Even as a barca fan I really enjoyed it. Nash has had a hard on for Barca for years now so it was an interesting situation. In terms of actual analysis it was just as cliche as every other match but I did like hearing Nash gasp after every bottled Spurs chance. Then again I still love Ray Hudson....
