Is this a valid analogy to the entire Brexit trainwreck? Image if you were a manager, and your employees get to go to your boss and define performance goals that you have to meet in order to keep your job. At the same time all of your employees hate you and want to get rid of you, and have completely opposite criteria for meeting the goals.

Ika posted:Is this a valid analogy to the entire Brexit trainwreck? No, it's more that you're running an engineering firm and the IT staff begged you for a go on the production line for 5 minutes while you took a fag break. Everything is now on fire and they're blaming you for them losing their jobs, and it's also your fault for thinking it was a good idea. Basically everyone is poo poo and shouldn't have done anything in the first place.

She would again require parliamentary approval to invoke article 50.

Yeah, if China wanted to expand their territorial waters they should have done it the normal, fair way by finding real islands, killing everyone on them, and planting their flag 400 years ago.

The term 'EUSSR' which was popularised by the Norwegian mass murderer Breivik is really popular among that crowd Some of the more ambitious Tories have echoed the comparison in the hopes that they become the Gammon Chosen One when May falls

The vote on the deal is now "before January 21st" meaning every business in the country will be doing it's no deal plans because it'll be too late otherwise. About to see a whole load of businesses relocate out of the country because she's too loving cowardly to have the vote and/or gently caress off

Yup, she's trying to force it through by leaving it so late that enough of them will vote for it rather than risk no deal.

Glenn Quebec posted:Please tell me British politicians haven't been eating Breivik.. I can't prove it but British anti-European sentiment didn't traditionally make the USSR comparison and they've only been willing to make it since Breivik did in his manifesto. When the Foreign Sec compared the EU to 'a gulag' it was top-tier dogwhistling for people who think Breivik was right. It also pissed off most of Eastern Europe so it wasn't exactly for international audiences
