quote:

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway teed off Tuesday on Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), calling her “a 29-year-old congresswoman who doesn’t seem to know much about anything.”

Conway’s assessment of Ocasio-Cortez, a self-described democratic socialist who has become a target of Republican ire even before being sworn in, came a day after Ocasio-Cortez accused outgoing White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly of “cowardice.”

Ocasio-Cortez on Monday called for Kelly to apologize before leaving his post for an October 2017 episode. In remarks at the White House, he called Rep. Frederica S. Wilson (D-Fla.) an “empty barrel” and accused her of grandstanding at a public event in Florida by taking credit for securing federal funding for a new building. Video of the event showed his attack to be inaccurate.

Google's CEO explained to Steve King that the Apple iPhone wasn't made by Google:

https://www.businessinsider.com/ste...23QGrCd4meSqJ0U

quote:

At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was asked some difficult questions. None was more difficult than a question asked by Iowa Rep. Steve King, however, whose question was literally impossible for Pichai to answer.

King said his 7-year-old granddaughter was playing a game on her phone before an election — most likely King's November 2018 reelection bid — and was shown a picture of the congressman that included some not-so-flattering language.

"I'm not going to say into the record what kind of language was used around that picture of her grandfather," he said.

Then, holding up his Apple device, King asked Pichai, "How does that show up on a 7-year-old's iPhone who's playing a kids game?"

The Google CEO answered the question by saying, "Congressman, iPhone is made by a different company."

The Democratic staff table erupted in laughter at Pichai's reply, according to Business Insider's Joe Perticone, who attended Tuesday's hearing.

Depends what bit of farming you mean, automated combines and other arable has been a thing for a decade, though by automated I mean you still need to stick your kid in the cab to turn it off if it goes wrong.

e: And on top of that, because things like soil temperature are so important to sowing, there probably isn't a farmer in western Europe that doesn't have a subscription to their national "agrisat" company that sends them live infra red updates on their fields from space. It's a hell of a lot more techno than you'd think.

Farming's been largely automated for several years now.

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2017/09/holland-agriculture-sustainable-farming/

There's another article about a dutch farmer whose farm is like 90% automated (he only need to hire temporary farmhands for part of the harvest), but I can't find it.

Uhhh, when I stopped farming to join the military our tractors and combines all drove themselves essentially using gps and lasers. Still had to be in the cab but you were just baby sitting the machine. I can’t even imagine how much farther the technology has gotten.

It does depend on the crop though; grains are almost fully automated but many other crops are very labor intensive.

You absolutely need a human operator. The guidance systems make the operator's life at lot easier but if you let the thing go on its own you're gonna end up with a four or five (or six) digit repair bill in 20 minutes at best. Even nice flat fields are not flat and obstruction free and most places are not nice and flat.
