I'd be more ok with that look if it had anime-like hydraulics to pop the wheels back out and down before driving anywhere. Even more so if you could go all the way to 4wd heights. (Then again, having the sort of person that built that try their hand at hydraulics would probably be an experience for everyone involved.)

My blue Ryobi kit worked okay on the OG NiCds, and Mom's green set works good on the Li batteries.that came with it, but boy howdy the Li battery the size and weight of the NiCd is a game-changer. That said, Dad's Milwaukee 12v drills he kept when he retired are pretty good and compact.
