Flynn's strategy seems... odd. This is the sequence, right?

Judge: Wow, your filing is alleging serious misconduct by the FBI that undermines the guilty plea and could be considered a crime itself! Could you elaborate?
Flynn's lawyers: uhhhh, erm

First Cohen Sentencing

Then the AG decision

Next Flynn Sentencing

Now Trump is such a Cuck that we have authorization, this is a big event.

This could be the floodgates opening to the mattering. Or maybe at least like a few drips of mattering?

Exactly. Lawyers were trying to angle for a pardon and get MAGAworld all excited while also hoping to get Flynn zero jail time.

Contradictory positions, so the judge is all like "uh, so if you're not going to take responsibility for your actions, why should I be lenient here???" and that set off a lot of ums and neverminds from Flynn's lawyers.

Still might work though! The guilty plea has been accepted, just waiting on the sentence.

Basically Flynn knows hes guilty as hell, his lawyers filed a "actually the FBI committed a bunch of crimes" thing and the judge played along saying that he bought the filing and let Flynn get out of his plea deal and expose the dastardly FBI for their wrong doing. Then Flynn+lawyers freaked the gently caress out at the judge calling their bluff.

I think the judge is asking: "Hey, if I sent this rear end in a top hat to jail for a while, would it sabotage any of your cases?"

The sentencing recommendation from OSC more or less said their recommendation for leniency was contingent on Flynn accepting responsibility. It was sort of a one-liner in there but it ain't like they don't craft the things word by word like goddamn elves making rings

Sentencing guidelines for this is 0-6 months. The major thing is that Flynn didn't get charged on the Turkey poo poo, even though he participated, and the judge can still use that as part of the sentencing.

Aaaaaaaand the judge looks like they're going to do that. Holy fuckballs.

Popehat (an actual defense lawyer and former prosecutor) had it at 50/50, but missed the Judge's comment of "are you sure you want to be sentenced now, or postpone it until you're done cooperating?" which is a telltale sign of a jail sentence coming.

But who knows! I didn't even expect a chance of jail, so this is funny as hell.
