Squeenix finally showed off a trailer for the Switch version of DQXI last night, it’s coming to Japan this year. No word yet on a western release but I’d say it’s pretty likely

if dq11 on switch comes with even the tiniest amount of new content it will justify putting another 60 down on the greatest jrpg..i'd also hope tons more people play it since the switch just sells a lot of games in general

the big new content in the jp switch version is voice acting so i dunno if the english version will have anything new

I liked Fire Emblem Awakening bit was kinda disappointed by Fates. Should I check out Echoes?

fates was good if you only played the conquest campaign and ignored the story but all the fe games have pretty bad st ories even amongst jrpgs. echoes from what i understand updates some of tthe sys tems but the maps from the old nes game are basically the same

It's ok but 2/3 of the maps are just massive empty squares with no features, paths or obstacles

Echoes is the worst FE ever worse even than awakening and birthright

if you liked awakening more than fates (conquest ?) then yeah proabably. if you just played birthright then play conquest instead cos if all i played was birthright id think awakening was better too.

I did all 3 routes on Fates but it was like ages ago.

I was in the mood for a strategy RPG with a good story and characters. I tried to get back into Advance Wars but I don't like that you have to generate units from bases. I prefer just having the set chess pieces.

You ever play Valkyrie chronicles? Those games are cool if on the easier side

Smirking_Serpent
Aug 27, 2009

No I haven't, honestly I was kinda curious but I kept hearing you had to rush through stuff to get good ranks and I like being a slow turtle

Daikatana Ritsu
Aug 1, 2008

Ranks don't matter and I'm pretty sure most missions are impossible to A rank the first time through anyway unless you spend 140 hours grinding 1k xp skirmishes ulillillia style. Plus you can replay missions later when you're naturally OP if you want
