The book isn't a bible at all, it's a journal he gave to his time-travelling stalker/wife/assassin. Since they are both time travellers they meet out of order and sync diaries to figure out when they are in relation to each other. Trap sprung, etc.

I don't typically really judge people for enjoying stupid poo poo because everyone has their own reasons even if most nerds can't really articulate what those reasons are because like most people they have little capacity for reflection but if I meet somebody still talking about Andromeda like it's a good show after all these years you're drat right I'm going to make fun of them for it I bet if we fed sorbo a bunch of LSD it would reprogram him back into Hercules

Andromeda and Earth Final Conflict both had decent first seasons that were kinda goofy but earnest in that early 90s, PTEN, remake Outer Limits way. Like they were cheesy but heart-on-its-sleeve cheesy, you know? But then both of them got taken over by try-hard ego cases who wanted to get all gritty and SRSBZNS and poo poo just got embarrassing.
