One particularly hot day in QLD everyone arrived back at the camp and turned their Donga ACs on full at the same time. It brought down the grid for the area. The camp backup generators kept loving up until they isolated to essential power only. drat we were lucky to be on the night shift and had gone to the mess before the place was locked down in darkness. I spent the heatwave underground in the relative coolness. Sure were a lot of sweaty miners franticly squeezing into the camp swimming pool to cool off as we drove out.
