There's no benefit for him if he's living on Titan to worry about what's going on a million light years away on Krypton or whatever. I know the idea of someone doing crazy poo poo just to bang someone is cliche, but at least it's straightforward and makes complete sense within the context of the original comic. Yes, I appreciate his characterization and pathos he demonstrated in the film, but in the grand scheme of things, it just doesn't make sense. *I don't know why they changed the gems to stones in the movie. It's not a huge deal, but it's also a completely needless change and I hate it when Hollywood does poo poo like this!

My wife puts on murder documentaries, pokemon TCG unboxing videos and game glitch videos when she works on crafts, and she now has alt-right recommendations showing up all the drat time on her YouTube. The alt-right stuff didn't start showing up until after she started watching pokemon videos.
