Listening to my roommates watch Solo led to me wondering why there are no wookie metal bands. Chewbacca would be a great vocalist in just about any subgenre of metal.

I didn't realize the Green Carnation guy had been working with Subterranean Masquerade, so I was pretty happy to hear this thing from last year. They've shifted styles from the The End Records sound they had in 2005 into something that sounds partway between modern Amorphis and Orphaned Land

I'm glad that Scorched album is getting the props it deserves. They showed up at MDF this year as a last second substitution for a band that couldn't make it, and they were easily one of my favorite sets of the whole fest.

That cover was cool though because, even though it's gollum on a hill or whatever, it's a nicely done painting, whereas the new one is photoshopped aids.
